Tape Automation

Ideal for unattended backup and restore, tape automation combines a high level of performance with user-friendly "no-manual" operation. With robotic mechanisms that automatically swap tape media in and out of drives, tape automation can help administrators back up information while away from the office. Tape automation systems can house multiple tape media cartridges enabling administrators to retain a large quantity of duplicate, backup information for long term storage.

Dell offers three tape automation systems:
  • PowerVault ML6000 tape library is a versatile, modular and scalable enterprise-level SAN backup solution.
  • tape library is a dense, automated, easy-to-use library and is a great alternative to tape autoloaders.
